Wally wins at Lisburn

WALLY Killiner (20) scored a massive 45 points to win the Autumn Stableford at Lisburn. Due to the recent heavy rain the competition had to be played off the yellow tees with preferred lies through the green making it non-qualifying.

Wally made a steady start but the highlight of the front nine was a birdie three at the fifth for five points. He finished the front nine with two pars for 23 points.

Two pars followed by a birdie four at 14 gave him 10 points. He finished with four bogeys for 22 points on the back nine and first place by one point from Glen Waring (12). Michael McNeice (18) came third with 42. Chris Furfey had the best score on Sunday with 41 points.

Stephen Shaw (4) had two nines of 36 for a level par round of 72 to win the gross prize with 36 points. A birdie three at the fifth was offset by a bogey on seven, while a birdie two at 13 compensated for a bogey at 10.

Wednesday Stableford 1st Gregg Ferris 37pts, 2nd Wesley Haslett 36pts. 3rd Richard Leathem 35pts.

Seniors Open 1st Norman Bissett 40pts, 2nd M Graham 39pts, 3rd E Magee 38pts.
