Win for Jimmy in Senior Open

Last Wednesday saw Jimmy Douglas win Castlerock’s latest Senior Open.

He scored 38 points from his handicap of thirteen to lead by two points from twenty-three handicapper Jim Boyd who carded 36. Eamon McGuinness slipped into third spot on 35 from his mark of eight. The best of the visiting players was Moyola Park traveller Terry McNeill with 31 points from his eight handicap

TURKEY FOR RONNIE AT THE ROCK

Ronnie McMullan took the choice of the seven birds on offer at Castlerock GC on Saturday. The eleven handicapper scored 38 points to fend off the challenge of twelve man Darren Hamilton who scored 37. Four players scored 36 points each with Danny Brown getting third on countback. Ivor Platt (9), David McNeill (14) and Alec Robertson (24) were closely followed by Selwyn Robinson (10) with 35 points for the final placings.
