Win for Richard at Portrush

Richard Gallaugher scored 41 points over the Dunluce Links to win the Golf Foundation Stableford competition at Portrush on Saturday.

The six handicapper birdied the par five second and balanced this up with a bogey five at the fourth to be out in level par for 21 points. Another par five, the seventeenth fell to a four and, with just two bogies on the back nine Richard had bagged another 20 to win by two clear points from George B Stewart and John Moss, both scored 40 points.

George birdied the par five ninth to end the opening nine on 19 and, without the need for birdies, the eleven handicapper covered the back nine in three over par for another 20 points. Club Captain John Moss birdied the par three third to help in getting 19 points on the card at the halfway stage before birdying both par fives on the back nine for 20 points and third place.
