Winter League begins at Rockmount Golf Club

Despite the heavy overnight rain the course was in fantastic condition for the start of the 2013-2014 Winter League competition at Rockmount Golf Club.

With nearly thirty teams taking part the competition is as popular as ever.

On Saturday 26th October two players scored 31 points. First place went to John Gray (25), beating second placed Walter Hogg (16) on count-back.

The low section (0 -11) was won by Al McCune (08) with 28 points, the mid-section (12 – 17) was won by Neill Coburn (16) with 30 points and the high section (18 – 28) was won by Joseph Mikhael (18) who had 30 points.

The best gross prize on the day went to Harry Greer (05) who had a one under par gross score of 47 (twelve holes).

Harry birdied the first, the third and the fourth holes; he bogied seven and eleven; his card was completed with pars at the other seven holes.
