Wylie wins at Strabane Golf Club despite blank at 14th hole

John Wylie (11) posted the winning score early morning in the Declan Devine’s Frozen Foods open Stableford in Strabane with a decent total of 40 points.

The long-time club member from Derry got to the turn with 21 points and got home registering a further 19 on the back stretch despite a blank hole at the par 4, 14th hole.

The runner-up also out in one of the first fourballs was Mark McCrea (10) just one point in arrears with 39 points.

Third after a break of tie finish was Keith Patterson (5) after he scored 38 points.

Gross winner was Conor Sharkey (6) after he scored 32 points, the front nine went to Foncie McNally after he started his round with 22 points and Martin Keyes (20) with 22 points claimed the back nine accolade after finishing strongly.

The presentation for this event will take place this Sunday, at 8.30pm.
