Zoe has been a member of Lurgan for a few years and was part of the squad for the Ladies Senior Foursomes Team who are current Ulster Champions.

She has, however, decided her future lies in professional golf and has commenced her studies in the PGA training degree course which will last for three years.

The degree involves working through study guides, assignments, residential weeks at the National Training Academy at PGA’s Belfry Headquarters, exams and attaining coaching awards.

Among the subjects studied are golf coaching, sports science, equipment technology, business management, marketing, golf rules and tournament administration. Hopefully all she will need to become a successful golf professional.

Her role will not only include helping with the day to day running of the pro shop, but also within the new golf academy where she will help with tuition, especially of juniors and beginners.

When asked for her views on her new position Zoe said, ‘I’m very excited about coming to work in Lurgan Golf Club and am looking forward to the new golf academy opening, hopefully encouraging more people to take up the game and helping players to improve.”

Lurgan Golf Club PGA Professional Peter Hanna and Lynne welcome Zoe to the team and no doubt all the Lurgan members will wishing her every success.
