Good day's work for reserves

Hill St Res 2

Hanover Res 0

HILL Street reserves maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a hard fought victory away to Portadown side Hanover Reserves.

The windy conditions made it difficult for both teams, and there were very few goalscoring chances in the first half.

Hill Street opened the scoring when Chris Humphries, who had replaced the injured Adam Glenn, raced on to an andrew brown flick on to finish well into the corner of the net.

In the second half Hill Street had the wind behind them and came close to scoring with good efforts from Stephen McClelland and Simon Freeburn.

The Lurgan side then went two up when a free kick from McClelland found Brown at the back post and the big striker thundered a header into the back of the net to leave the final score 2-0 to Hill Street.

A good day's work by Hill Street to send them nine points clear at the top of Reserve Division 1.

Best on the day were Clark Mckinstry , Neil Radford and Gareth Lindsay.
