Good draw for Coleraine Thirds

COLERAINE Ladies Thirds travelled the long distance to Dromore on Saturday and with a very depleted side they were just happy to fulfil the fixture.

Coleraine though started very strongly and were taking the game to Dromore. A new formation of four in midfield seemed to prove the right tactics as it was only five minutes into the game when the away side won a short corner.

The corner was saved well by the keeper and Coleraine didn’t manage to convert the rebound.

The forwards of Zoe Campbell and Julie Hughes played well together and were well supported by Juliet Hamill who was unlucky not to score to put Coleraine ahead.

For most of the game the play was mainly contained within the middle section of the pitch with Coleraine lacking some control for certain parts of the game but they went in goalless at the break.

The second half brought about a revitalized Coleraine and the defense of Heather Bradley, Ursula Harper, Karen Colgan and Saffron Taylor held strong. There was nothing that was going to get past them.

They were well organized and had the domination of the game. Coleraine battled hard however they were unable to get onto the score sheet for a second week in a row. However they still have maintained their unbeaten record as the game finished 0-0.
