Good start continues for Town U13s

Banbridge Town U13s 2

BANBRIDGE Town U13s maintained their good start to the season by defeating Ballymena in the Lisburn Invitational League.

In an uneventful first half both sides cancelled each other out and there were few chances.

Town went ahead soon after the interval when midfielder D’aire McCluskey swivelled in the box and curved a shot high into the net.

Ballymena continued to threaten and forced Town keeper Calum Adamson into a smart save.

Aaron Thompson sealed the game for Banbridge with 10 minutes to go, running at the defence from deep and applying a neat finish.

Ballymena almost got back into the match with a shot that rebounded off the post.

Aaron himself was then denied by the woodwork as Banbridge ran out comfortable winners.
