Good turnout for annual netball tournament

LAST week's Netball Tournament in Ballymoney was again hailed as a great success.

Eight teams turned up for the tournament.

One of the organisers, Brenda Boyle, said: “We had a Ballymoney hockey select side, The Netball Legends (who are known as Ballymoney rugby boys - team captain Peter Sheilds), Do You Need To Ask - team captain netballer Heather Smyth - The Muppets - team captain rugby player Gordon McCandless, the Beech Dudes - team captain netballer Oonagh McCrossan - The All Sorts - team captain netballer Sam Nicholl, The Meerkats (Ballymoney table tennis team - captains Brian Orr and Gary McClelland, Gillan and Co - The sporty Gillan Family - who lifted the winner medals from Friday night’s games.

“It was great to see so many sports people of the borough taking part in the fun mixed netball event.

“Most of the lads now know how skillful netball really is.”

The winners were awarded medals and wine courtesy of Armagh Rugby Club.

Causeway Netball club would like to thank everyone for their support on such a successful night.
