Grammar set up third-round tie with Ballyclare High
Buoyed by a recent win over local rivals Larne Grammar School, Carrick were hopeful of a positive result going into this game but it was Dungannon who exerted the early pressure, breaking the deadlock with a penalty to lead 3-0.
Centre Marc Ellison levelled matters converting a penalty of his own. After some good work by centre Daniel Anaele, Ellison kicked another penalty, before a lapse in concentration allowed Dungannon to restore parity at the break.

Hide AdCarrick were quickest out of the blocks in the second half and again, following some good driving work by the pack, Ellison slotted over his third penalty of the day.
Dungannon capitalised on some poor defending to go over for a converted try to make it 13-9, but, with only two minutes remaining, Jeremy Addley found space to barge his way over for an unconverted score from close range.
Carrick’s trip to Ballyclare is scheduled for Saturday, January 19.
