Gray captures Omagh Road 10k Time Trial

East Tyrone’s ‘big two’ Jake Gray and Gary Jeffers went head to head in last week’s Third Round of the Somerville Body Repairs TT League over 10 Miles on the Omagh Road.

Sixteen year old Irish Youth International Gray produced a fantastic effort going under 21 minutes to beat the Club Time Trial Champion Jeffers by 8 seconds.

John McGlaughlin placed third with another promising East Tyrone prospect, Andrew Reid, showcasing his potential with an excellent 22.03 in fourth.

There was a raft of personal bests throughout the 29 rider field on what emerged as a real ‘float’ night.

The Mountain Bikers have the Second Round of the New Landscapes TT League on Tuesday, June 10th, at Davagh and on Thursday, June 12th the action is on the Rock circuit for Round Three of the JS Cycles R/R League with a 7.30pm start.

East Tyrone duo Jake Gray and Harvey Barnes took a brilliant first and second in the Under 16 Event at Sunday’s North Down Grand Prix at Donaghadee.

On a great day for the East Tyrone club Ellie Kelso was the best placed girl and sixth overall in the Under 12 Event. Gary Jeffers placed ninth, 3.16 down on the winner Fraser Duncan (Dave Kane/ Northern) in an all star line up in the 80 Mile A1/2/3 feature event.
