Gray lifts President's Cup

THE President's Cup was played for throughout October at Rafters Snooker Club in Ballymoney.

The Northern Ireland Cue Sports Players Association kindly sponsored the cup and shield for the winner and runner-up.

There were 48 entrants for the high profile competition, will all players handicapped.

All matches were played in a best of five format with the final over seven frames.

The decider was played on Wednesday 24 October and Sean Gray was the victor, seeing off Lee Gibson by four frames to one.

Sean won 150 plus the cup and shield while Lee went home with a shield and 100.

Ryan Murphy and Mark Hegarty were beaten semi-finalists and both walked away with 50.

Unfortunately special guest Len Ganley, who is the president of the Northern Ireland Cue Sports Players Association was unable to officiate at the final due to an accident.

Uel Wylie thanked Len for his kind sponsorship and wished him a speedy recovery.
