Great performance by BBOB in cup

LURGAN BBOB travelled to highflying Dollingstown Seconds in the Junior Cup and after a fast flowing game BBOB emerged 6-2 winners.

BBOB started the match very fluently, creating a few chances in the opening five minutes. However out of nowhere Dollingstown opened the scoring through Stephen Lawson.

The BB side scored within five minutes when their in form striker Henry Capper also bagged a goal from distance.

Mark Doyle put BBOB ahead with a shot from the left edge of the penalty area after a persistent Ryan Costley had done well to win the ball off the Dollingstown goalkeeper. Halfway through the half and Doyle added his second goal.

Within minutes Dollingstown pulled a goal back when they converted from just inside the penalty area at a corner kick.

Late in the half BBOB restored their two goal advantage when Neil Anderson passed onto runner Capper, who clinically finished for his second goal.

Then Capper returned the favour when he squared from the right to Anderson who slotted home to give BBOB a 5-2 lead at half time.

Not surprisingly the pace of the game slowed in the second half. BBOB defended comfortably and at the other end the impressive Doyle saw the Dollingstown keeper deny him a hat-trick.

Eventually BBOB did extend their lead further when Alex Wright made a great run down the right side and crossed for Neil Anderson to emphatically hammer home.

BBOB will be pleased with this result and performance, where their whole team played some fine football, right out from defence, through midfield and into attack.

They will be hoping for more of the same when they host Goodyear this Saturday in the league.
