Great performance by Sperrin

SPERRIN A completed another fine season in the Coleraine and District Darts League with victory over Coronation last week.

Barry McLaughlin yet again topped the bill with a fine 15-dart leg. In a very high scoring game Joe McLaughlin also recorded a 180. Chris Murry hit 18 and 19-dart legs to complete a great individual performance.

Bertha’s travelled to Finn’s and shared the points in another high scoring match. With no fewer than 40 scores of 100 plus a draw seemed a fair result. R McMullan of Finn’s had a 16-dart leg while Ian Patterson of Bertha’s hit a 17-dart leg. Finns have shown their young side can compete at this level and must surely be a team for the future.

Heckler’s travelled to Villa and came away with both points. The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead after Nigel Mullan scored a 180 and 19-dart leg. Top performance of the night came from Rodney Kane who hit a 14-dart leg

In Section Two Floyd’s completed their programme undefeated after they took both points at Cooley’s. Floyd’s have dominated this section from early on and will surely be a side to watch next season when they are back in the top flights. Roe View travelled to Temple knowing they needed both points if they where to stay in front of Kelly’s for second spot. Roe View put the game to bed early on when they raced into a 4-0 lead. Once again Peter Burke put in a fine performance which included 2 x 140. Hugh McGill took the game which gave his side both points which keeps them in second place. Temple though may feel the score did not reflect the way they played as they had no fewer than 20 scores of 100 plus.

Kelly’s Inn are still pushing for second place and after a sound performance took both points thanks to Jason McNeill claming the final game with a great individual performance. Sperrin B though have competed well this season and can hold there heads high.

All games which were postponed on the January 8 due to the bad weather will now be played on Febuary 5.
