Great win for triples side against Broughshane

BALLYMENA claimed maximum points in their recent home game against Broughshane in the Mid Week Triples league after a 69-36 win.

On rink 2 Dessie Shaw, Mabel Magee and John Elliott were involved in a close match against P Johnston.

The scores were tied at 6-6 after 8 ends and even though the Ballymena triple won the next 3 ends to open up a 6 shot lead the scores were again level at 14-14 after 16 ends. The Braid triple however were not to be denied victory and 2 counts of 3 shots on the final 2 ends saw the home triple claim victory by 20 shots to 14.

The Ballymena triple of Rachel Alexander, Paul Davison and John Greer took some time to settle down against F Wilson on rink 3 and after 10 ends they trailed by 7 shots, however the remainder of the game belonged to the Braid triple.

The visitors could only score on one of the remaining ends as the Ballymena triple ran out winners by 21 shots to 16.

The biggest win of the night came on rink 4 where Keith Burnett, Barbara Burnett and Jimmy Larkin took on W Alexander. The Ballymena triple were in great form and with the help of 3 counts of 3 shots over the first 12 ends they opened up a 15 shot lead. Three further counts of 3 shots in the run in saw the Ballymena triple score a well deserved 28-6 victory.
