Ground work to start again

THE Crescent End stand at Mourneview Park could be open again in just two months.

Work on that end of the ground began early this year but had to be halted after the contractors were forced into liquidation.

It has taken five months for tenders to be completed again and, at long last, the work on the stand is set to start again in the coming weeks.

“The tenders are in for the second part of the work and we hope that the eight week contract will start at the beginning of October. We hope to have it completed by the end of November,” said Glenavon chairman Adrian Teer.

“That includes the work on the Crescent End stand, control room, toilets and press box.”
