Gymnast Ben set to compete in Limerick

Local gymnast Ben Harron will follow up his recent participation in the 2015 Celtic Cup, when he competes in the All Ireland Gymnastics Championships this weekend.

The Dromore High School pupil was amongst nine Salto gymnasts who were selected to represent Northern Ireland and Ireland at the Celtic Cup in Cardiff.

In April Ben competed as part of the Northern Ireland Minor Gymnastics squad at the contest in Wales.

This weekend he will travel to Limerick to compete in the All Ireland Gymnastics Championships.

During the summer Ben is part of a group of boys selected to travel to Tunsia to participate in the Northern Ireland Team training programme.

When competing Ben participates in six pieces of equipment including; Floor, Pommel, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar.

Ben has taken part in gymnastics from the age of five at Salto Gymnastics Centre of Excellence in Lisburn. He is hard working and dedicated training six days a week. The school are proud of Ben and wish him every success in his upcoming competitions.
