GYMNASTICS: Sika Gymnastics Club holds awards night

Last Thursday evening, Sika Gymnastics Club held its annual awards night, at Coleraine Leisure Centre.

The club which had its end of term ‘fun night’ presented a number of trophies to its best and most improved Gymnasts who enjoy recreational gymnastics, including floor, vault, bars and beam, for an hour each week in the main hall of the Leisure Centre.

Mrs Patricia McAfee who has served on the committee for a number of years, presented medals to the winners in each class as well as awards for Club Champion - Jaye Armstrong and Junior Club Champion -Timothy Ramage.

Most improved gymnast this year was Ciara Campbell and the Buick and McClure Shields for Most Promising Gymnast and Most Promising Junior were awarded to Paris Best and Paige Kerr respectively. Cara Lockhart received the Mackintosh Cup for most improved Development Squad gymnast and Orla Lafferty won the Morrison Cup for Endeavour.

The Villa Trophy for the Elite squad -best overall gymnast - was presented this year to Grace Bradley, the Burgess Shield for Beam was awarded to Melissa McMaster and the Profile competition (for best splits, handstands, strength and flexibility) was won by Eleanor Atcheson.
