Hard fought win makes it three on spin for Lurgan Tigers

Lurgan Tigers under 14s made it three wins on the spin with a 53-14 victory over hard working Banbridge opponents at Rifle Park, Banbridge.

Both teams showed early enterprise by moving the ball along their respective backs. the Tigers opened the scoring with Theo Dixon going over in the corner. The home team responded when some clever interplay saw the big centre canter over under the posts and this was duly converted. The Tigers came right back with Zac Davidson going over for the first of his three tries. Again the home team responded well when some loose Tigers passing saw the Banbridge backs move the ball quickly to again score under the posts. Again this was converted.

For the remainder of the game it was all Tigers who ran in a further seven tries from Zac Davidson (2), Ben Davidson (2), Alex Dixon (2) and Mark McElhinney (1). Four of these were converted by out half Joshua Abraham. The margin of victory was just reward for the Tigers positive play. Every member played his part and the performance puts the squad in good heart for the away trips to Monaghan and Virginia.
