Hasson cruises to victory

ANOTHER good turnout at the Foyle Friday Open Stableford saw some excellent scores returned off the Medal tees with Donal Hasson (5) having two points to spare in first place after an excellent 2 under par round of 43 points, with Tony McGinley (10) finishing second with 41 points and Damien McKenna (scr) produced another excellent round of 5 under par to become the first player at Foyle to reach a plus handicap.

Last Wednesday’s confined stableford competition was won by Alan Manning (22) after he scored 47 points, second was Martin Tracey (18) after he scored 44 points and Paul Anderson (7) with 42 points was third.

Today (Wednesday) sees the open stableford comeptition sponsored by PFS Chartered Accountants, while on Friday another open stableford competiton is down for decision and this Saturday sees the Charity open stableford competition in aid of the Foyle Hospice take centre stage.

While the ladies stableford competition, which took place on Thursday, July 22, was won after a break of tie finish by Naomi Hamilton (35) after she finished with 35 points, second was Alison Elkin (11) after she too finish with 35 points and Margaret Killen (18) who scored 33 points was third.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is the Nellie Garrett Foursomes qualifying takes place - Choose own markers and tee times.

Lady members and lady visitors are also reminded about the Foyle Anniversary Open takes place on Saturday, September 1 and a good turnout is expected.

Finally, a reminder to those still in the Keys Club matchplay competition, that any remaining matches should be played soon.
