Hat trick for Sam as Garvey win

Newly promoted Garvey Ladies Fourths are now sitting second in their league after another good performance against Greenisland Thirds.

The Garvey defence were once again very solid with any Greenisland threats being comfortably dealt with. Garvey this week were without their normal penalty corner team, so sweeper Sam Watterson took on the duty herself. Garvey won four corners in the match with Samantha scoring three out of the four awarded. Sam hasn’t scored for Garvey in over 5 years, which makes the hat trick even more remarkable. The match finished 3-1 to Garvey.

Meanwhile, after a defeat last weekend Lisnagarvey Seconds were determined to come out fighting and get a win. Victorians looked strong from the start and had some good opportunities early on in the game. Laura Wilson scored a quick goal 2 minutes into the second half. Goals from Stephanie McCullough, Jemma Walker and Jenna Flynn left the final score 4-1.
