The summer scheme provides a great way for those new to the game to get involved, as well as giving those who already play a chance to develop their skills. The programme runs from 10am to 12noon each day and costs £20 per child.

Encouraging participation in the hockey summer scheme, Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman Thomas Hogg, said: “Hockey’s a great sport that encourages teamwork, and of course being outdoors in the fresh air is a great way to spend a couple of hours each day whether you’re new to hockey or want to develop your existing playing skills.”
