Hewitt makes club history

Jonathan Hewitt secured a spot in the Loughgall club history books with a record-breaking round of 68.

Hewitt edged out Keith Johnston’s tally by a single stroke to now boast the club record.

The weekend Hogg’s Bar-sponsored Stableford featured Jim Cunningham in top spot on 45 points, followed by David Kelly’s 43 and 42 from Jackson Ruddock.

Hewitt wrapped up the gross score on his way to making club history - with Alan Magill, Noel Hegarty, Neville Cornett, Robert Treanor, Evan Simpson and Davy Coote the section winners.

Davy McRoberts won the Weekly Challenge sponsored by Murder Mystery NI over Spencer Lawson and Alan Magill, with Roy Holmes top of the gross.

Ben Currie finished first in the junior 18-hole event ahead of James McCammon and Sam Rainey.

John Currie’s Ulster fourball players lost out by a narrow margin to Down Royal in the second leg.
