High hopes for Camogs

ST Mary’s Camogie Club, Aghagallon, have been in preparation since early January for an important season ahead.

The senior team remain in Armagh’s Division 1 and are up for the task of promotion to the Premier Division.

The help of specialised hurling coaches and a fitness trainer were brought in to help the team. With the support of local sponsor Island Salads they were able to cover the running costs.

The underage coaching is also up and running, and the specialised coaching has been paying off with Meabh McManus, Eimear McHenry, Kirsty Shanks and Sarah Mooney representing the county team at minor level.

A special mention to Niamh Rodgers who is currently training with the Armagh Primary Elite Squad and will make her playing debut in Dublin.

Membership is growing for the club at all age levels, taking in players not only from the area but all over. They are always open to new membership (playing and non-playing). Training takes place at the Colane pitch 7.30-9pm Monday and Wednesday. Underage training is 6-7.30pm Thursday at Aghagallon Parish pitch. For further details contact [email protected].
