Highwaymen deliver fine win

Highwaymen delivered a terrific away win in the Lisnagarvey Darts League last weekend when they thrashed hosts Beattie 9-1.

The visitors produced a superb performance to seal the spoils. Starring for Highwaymen were N. Cameron (24 darts, 2x100), J. Bishorek (20 darts, 100), A. Coburn (22 darts, 140), W. Mullan (19 darts, 180), I. Keery, M. Lilley (19 darts, 121, 100), E. Mullan (22 darts, 137), B. Flanagan and C. Willis (20 darts).

Beattie’s lone winner was N. Walker.

Anvil 3 First Blues 7

First Blues were in seventh heaven when they got the better of hosts Anvil, taking a 7-3 victory from their league encounter.

Hitting the target to ensure the win for First Blues were S. Tully, B. Mawhinney (100), G. Bell (100), T. Friers, J. Coey (100, 140), D. Toole (100) and P. Smyth.

Replying for Anvil were D. Dawson Jnr (140), M. Thompson and P. Nelson (100).

Hillsborough 2

Dunmurry C/C 8

Dunmurry C/C got the better of Hillsborough when the sides met in the league last weekend, as Dunmurry secured a fantastic 8-2 victory.

On target for Dunmurry were C. Waterworth (18 darts, 100), G. Lyttle (100), D. Scott (2x100), M. Guy (140), G. Cromie (140), J. Millen Jnr, J. Millen Snr (2x100) and D. Johnson (100).

Hillsborough winners were J. McWilliams and C. McClements (20 darts).

Whites 1 Downside 9

Downside captured the spoils when they met Whites in the league as the visitors secured a superb 9-1 victory.

Taking the spoils in style for Downside were G. Mackin (22 darts), G. Sedge (117), S. Martin (100), M. Wood (140), J. McMichael (24 darts, 100), J. Coulter (100), F. Jamison, J. Bishorek and B. McMichael.

The lone winner for Whites was I. Crothers.

• The Lisnagarvey Darts League Three-A-Side will take place in the Derriaghy C/C Rooms tonight (Friday) at 8pm, for a 8.30pm start. £6 per team. The Delegates Meeting will take place in Derriaghy C/C Rooms on Monday January 14 with an 8pm start.

• Elsewhere, just before Christmas the 1st Blues Ladies Dart League held their League Pairs Competition. Following some superb darts in the opening rounds, in the semi-final S.McKee and E.Harrison beat A.Sommerville (112) and T.Johnson to play G.Mullan (140,100) and S.McMeekin in the final who had beaten N.Johnson and A.Sharkey.

In the final both sets of pairs threw brilliant darts but it was S.McKee and E.Harrison (127) who hit their doubles to beat G.Mullan (125) and S.McMeekin to take the winners trophy.
