Hilden may have been disappointed to lose at home to Castleton by 11 shots, but the two points take them closer to survival in Private Greens Senior 2.

Down 7-11 at the tenth Raymond Gourley came back to lead 17-16 at 18 ends. It was 17-17 at 19 ends but Hilden finished with two singles to win by two shots.

Down 4-10 at the tenth and 9-19 at 17 ends Colin Montgomery lifted a three at 20 ends but still trailed 14-20. Hilden dropped a last end double.

At the tenth Howard McMullan was 2-10 down but took a 16-15 lead at 17 ends. Hilden dropped a five to go 16-23 down with an end left when they dropped a single.

A four and two threes helped Jonathan McMullan to a 14-5 lead at the tenth and at 17 ends Hilden were 21-14 ahead. They were 22-16 up with an end left when they dropped a five but won by a shot.

Hilden B were three players short, but they still only lost by 1.75 shots away to Castleton B, who were two short in Private Greens Junior 2.

Charlie Morrison got the only Hilden win, but Drew Harron only lost by two shots, Jackie Martin won 15-12 but dropped a quarter of his score and Robin Campbell lost.
