Forget the scoreline Hilden got the six points at home to Gallaher the hard way in Private Greens Senior Three.

They won convincingly on Tuesday night against promotion chasing, Shaftesbury, but for over half of this contest Hilden were down on three rinks though Maurice Kirkwood’s lead was always going to win the game for them.

The six points can be viewed either as a good come back or a ‘get out of jail’ success.

Hilden recorded a vital 6-1 win on Tuesday night in Private Greens Senior Three over one of their main challengers, Shaftesbury, and they remain top of the table.

Two fours and a three gave Steven Kirkwood a 18-6 lead at the ninth. A six at 20 ends helped Hilden to a 29 shots win.
