Hilden lost their second round IBA Intermediate Cup tie by two shots in a real thriller at Llwellyn Avenue on Saturday.

It is one of the great things about the game which allows the tension to build up.

Certainly the closing ends were very exciting but unfortunately Hilden just missed out.

Hilden bowlers will ask the questions tonight

Hilden Bowling Club will host a quiz in the clubhouse tonight (Friday) at 8pm with the proceeds going to RAMS.

Teams should have approximately six members and there will be a ballot. Prizes will also be awarded to the winning quiz team. The cost per team member will be £5.

Dromore did well to get 1.5 points at home to Banbridge in NIBA Division 1.

Gavin Clinghan got a ten shots win and Nathan Haire tied.

Jim sneaks in for a win

Jim Kinkead came back from behind to get a single shot win for Lagan Valley away to Queen’s Island in NIBA Division 5.

Kinkead was down 6-10 at the tenth and 9-14 at 15 ends before coming back to snatch the win.

Down 5-10 at the tenth Jim Parkinson levelled at 17-17 ater 19 eds but lost by three shots.

Down 5-13 at the tenth and 10-19 at 15 ends Jeff Fawcus won four of the last five ends but lost by three shots.

Down 1-14 and 5-18 Jim Spence was always out of it and lost by 9.75 shots to a three man rink.
