Hill and Willis selected for Commonwealths

Larne Swimming Club’s Danielle Hill and Larne Grammar teacher Hannah Willis are off to this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

At just 14, Hill is one of the youngest members of the Northern Ireland team and is part of a 10-strong swimming squad.

She will be competing in her favoured backstroke disciplines and could be part of relay events at the games.

Larne Swimming Club’s Head Coach, Peter Hill, commented: “Danielle has trained hard all season for this and her selection is a testament to the sacrifice and dedication she gives to her sport. She trains over 20 hours a week for 48 weeks of the year.”

Willis, a PE teacher at the Grammar, is an integral part of the Northern Ireland netball squad which makes its debut at the Commonwealths.
