A strong starting team allowed the South Antrim Ladies to score very early in the game with an excellent goal from Anna Macfarlane putting the local girls in the lead.

The PSNI soon fought back winning a short corner but South’s keeper Courtney Mills made an excellent save, keeping the score line at 1-0.

However, the PSNI won another short corner and this time made no mistake, scoring and thus leaving the score 1-1 at half time.

Both teams came out strong in the second half. Numerous attempts at scoring were made from the home side by players such as Amy Wright and Laura McConnell but the PSNI keeper proved strong, saving each attempt.

South Antrim won their second short corner of the match and again their shots were saved. However, a rebound allowed Laura McConnell to finally beat the stopper and put South back in front again.

That goal proved to be the winner as South closed out the victory.”
