“We should have been more clinical in the circle but it was a game I was a bit wary of,” he said.

“They had done well the previous week so it was great to get the win.

“I was pleased with how we started the game. We hadn’t begun that well in the previous games so it was nice to start better and get the three points.”

By the end of the first quarter, Bann were two goals up.

Hugh McShane opened the score after five minutes when he skillfully rounded the keeper from close range. Then in the final minute of the quarter, Fraser Mills was on hand to force home Bann’s second.

Eugene Magee added the third, flicking home powerfully from a penalty corner switch.

In the final quarter, Matthew Allister intercepted a clearance to burst into the circle to clinically finish from mid circle. Inst then netted a late consolation.
