Holmes and Maclaine Cups at Bushfoot
IN THE most recent round of the Holmes Cup at Bushfoot Golf Club, seventeen handicap Maurice McLernon returned a massive 43 points to finish two clear of Charlie McKeegan on 42 off his handicap of 16.
Meanwhile, Paul Deighan battled through last Saturday’s heat wave at Bushfoot and returned a massive 46 points to win the Maclaine Cup.
It was well worth losing a few shots off his previous mark of 18 to get his name on this prestigious trophy. Paul finished two clear of Gavin Hawkins on 44 from his handicap of 16.
Damian Clyde returned with 41 points to take third spot and seemingly ever-present Mark Crooks (4) lifted the best gross prize with a very creditable 70.
