Honours even for Bann Ladies

Bann Ladies Thirds claimed a 1-1 draw with PSNI Ladies Seconds at Havelock this week.

From the start PSNI came out strong but Bann were able to keep them at bay with a strong centre line from Aileen Lawson, Helen Monaghan and Jenny Wilson.

Bann began to get many chances at goal with numerous short corners however, shots from Emma Leeper and Danielle Thompson were not successful.

PSNI achieved a short corner just before half time and were able to get a clear strike at goal to make it 0-1.

Frustrated, Bann came out determined in the second half and the majority of the play was in Bann’s attacking half.

A scuffle at goal allowed Bann to receive a penalty stroke for the second time in two matches.

Rachel Groves stepped up to the spot and with a strong flick to the right of the keeper, Bann made it 1-1.

For the rest of the match, Bann battled for another goal but it was just not to be as PSNI defence line became very strong in the circle.

Player of the match: Aileen Lawson.
