HORSE RACING: Success for trainer Stuart Crawford at Cheltenham and Down Royal

Local trainer Stuart Crawford ran horses at Cheltenham last week and also at the St Patrick's Day Meeting at Down Royal.

He finished with a third at Cheltenham, and a winner and two third places at Down Royal.

Legacy Gold, ridden by Adrian Lynch and owned by Mr R S Brookhouse, finished in third place at Cheltenham in the OLBG Mares Hurdle (Grade 1). Danielle’s Journey, owned by the Realta Racing Club Journey, finished 12th in a field of 16 in the Trull Stud Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 2).

At Down Royal, Fine Rightly, ridden by Adrian Lynch and owned by Mrs Patricia Duffin, won the Daily Mirror Steeplechase - the feature race of the day.

Yes Tom, also trained by Magheramorne man Crawford, and owned by local business man Tom Topping, finished third in the three-and-a-quarter miles race.

Dr Maloney was third in the Novice Steeplechase, and Kally’s Taken finished unplaced in the Mare’s Flat Race.
