Aghaloo were forced to dig deep to see off the challenge of Killyman in their opening round in Eglish, Gerard McCaughey putting in a great second half shift in midfield to help his side past the St Mary’s.

Next up the O’Neills took care of Newtownstewart in Dunmoyle with two Ruairi McGlone goals key to their four point victory. In a tense semi final encounter Aghaloo clawed their way past Glenelly with goals from McGlone and Cathal Cuddy making the difference after the 60 minutes.

Brackaville have been in impressive form to date this year advancing from the preliminary round to the final. They opened the championship season in Tyrone on July 26th against Drumragh in Cookstown running out convincing winners 1-18 to 0-6.

Two weeks later they had 6 points to spare against Owen Roe O’Neills in Dunmoyle, Martin Gervin with the goal for the east Tyrone side.

Kieran Holland’s side qualified for the semi final with the help of a late goal against a dogged Drumquin side in Healy Park, substitute Gary Ferguson netting to seal a 1-15 to 0-8 win.

The Roes then saw off Brocagh with a second half scoring spurt, Che O’Donnell the star of the show kicking 0-8 for his side to reach a first Junior final since 1996.Brackaville will be hoping that Sunday’s final has a similar positive result for them.
