The game at Donegal Celtic Park (kick-off 3pm) has a huge significance for Quinn’s men as a win could see them claw their way off the foot of the table for the first time since 25th August.

Glenavon, of course, are fresh off the back of only their second win of the campaign whilst DC, who had a flying start to the season, have only won one of their last six league games.

Quinn is hoping that his side can take confidence from their 5-2 victory over Distillery and take advantage of Celtic’s dip in form.

“They (Donegal Celtic) have maybe just lost their way a bit at the moment,” he said.

“I’m hoping that they’re on a bit of a downer and we’re on the up. We’ll certainly go there looking for a victory. Would I take a point away from home? I would but we’ll be looking for three and hopefully we can achieve that.

“Ryan Henderson, Paul McVeigh and Darren Murray are all capable of scoring goals. They’re a workman-like side and they’ve a good team spirit. That’s what keeps them going and they’ve a bit of character in the team. You’ve always got to go and win the battle at DC.

“Their league position tells everything about them at the minute and how well they’re doing. We’ll not underestimate them by any means but Packie (McAllister) goes back to his old haunt and hopefully we can lift our game for the big man.

“We’re building on our confidence now. Certainly coming away from Windsor with a win and a clean sheet was very pleasing. That was our only disappointment on Saturday, conceding two goals that were both preventable.

“The five goals sends out a message that we’re trying to get our act back together now though.”

Quinn says that he may make some changes to his starting XI, with striker Andy Graham, who has netted four goals in his last four games, goalkeeper Davey O’Hare and returning midfielder Ciaran Doherty possibly in line for a start.

“Andy Graham has a good chance of coming back in and Davey O’Hare had another good game for the Reserves on Saturday,” said Quinn.

“He had a tremendous game against Crusaders last week and his professionalism has been outstanding. Andy Coleman got the shirt and the way Davey accepted it was so professional.

“He could have come and watched the match from the bench but he wanted to go with the reserves and get another game. If everyone was as good as Davey O’Hare we’d be in a better place.

“So that’s another option. Do we change the goalkeeper? Am I happy with Andy throwing the ball to Jay for their first goal? No I’m not.

“There are a few other wee bits and pieces and there is competition for places. Ciaran Doherty comes back this Thursday so we’ll see what shape he’s in when he gets back. Ciaran was flying before he left and he’s the sort of lad who looks after himself anyway. He got a sniff at the first team and he enjoyed it.”
