Hustlers continue to keep pace with title contenders

Fairhill Hustlers continued their impressive early season form as they stayed top of the Ballymena Towers League in impressive style last week.

The AHoghill side picked up a full six points from their trip to Moat B to remain very much in title contention.

Michelin Masters 5, Coach 1: Malcolm Graffin got the Coach off to a perfect start with a 2-1 win over David Armstrong. Chris Penny levelled the match with a come from behind 2-1 win over Darren Gilmore. Rick McMaster put the Masters into lead for the first time in the match with a 2-1 win over Aidy Rouke and this included an 8ball clearance in the first fram. Alan Armstrong made the match score 3-1 to the Masters with a 2-1 win over David Gillespie. The final two games were both 2-0 wins for the Masters with Bobby Carson and Brian Hanna defeating Frazer Young and Chris Gordon. POM - Bobby Carson.

Fairhill Rockets 5, Social Club 1: Allastair Lowry put the Rockets ahead with a 2-1 win over Marc McMullan. Ian Dewar put the Rockets further ahead with a win in straight frames over Ross Hill. Albert McBride pulled a game back for the Social Club with a 2-1 win over Gary Allen. Stephen Worthington had a 2-0 win over Eddie Fleck and 
Barry Kernohan then made the score in the match 
4-1 for the Rockets with a win in straight frames over May Barr. In the final game Linzi McClelland had a 2-0 win over Brian Boyd. POM - Linzi McClelland.

Moat B 0, Fairhill Hustlers 6: George McCullough got the Hustlers off to a great start with a 2-0 win over Ricky Moore. Sean Brannigan then put the Hustlers further ahead with a win in straight frames over Steven Magill. The next two games resulted in 2-0 wins for the Hustlers, there 
winners were Richard Campbell and Glenn Mairs who defeated Daniel Magill and Aaron Browne. In the fifth game Rab Graham had a 2-1 win over Dean Robinson and in the final game Ritchie Irwin completed the whitewash with a 2-0 win over William Wilson.

Minnesota Inbetweeners 5, Moat A 1: The league champions got off to the perfect start with Gary Ormandy having a 2-1 win over Michael Thompson. Wayne Lewis made the match score 2-0 for the Inbetweeners with a 2-1 win over Barry Weir. Glen Howard increased the lead for the Inbetweeners with a win in straight frames over Jason McKay. Alan Rainey then put the Moat on the scoreboard with a 2-1 win over Gareth Rowe. Philip Houston then restored the three game advantage for the Inbetweeners with a 2-1 win over Darren Campbell. In the final game Dessie Cooper had a 2-0 win over David Nicholl. POM - Dessie Cooper.

The match between Towers Tavern and Connolly’s was postponed and will be played at a later date.

The Tommy Nelson Individual Open Tournament will be held in the Moat Bar on Sunday 13th December 2015.

Entry is £5. Registration 12-30 to 1pm . Draw will be at 1.05pm and tournament starts at 1.15pm, this is open to 
everyone.
