Hutchinson stars for Larne AC at Lisburn

Thirteen members of Larne AC travelled to Lisburn on Wednesday evening to take part in the Lisburn 10k race. Almost 1,700 runners lined up at the start line for the combined half-marathon and 10k event on the hottest evening of the racing season so far.

First home for Larne in a fantastic time of 36:15 was Craig Hutchinson (15th), followed by was Patricia Blair (138th) in 44:12. Next to cross the line was Helen Murray 48:09 (267th), while newcomer Karl Simpson (334th) ran 50:17.

Janine Rainey (333th) followed in 50:26, and Glenn Mann (362th) ran 51:03. Jim Evans (404th) crossed the line in a time of 51:54, Claire Dickinson (400th) completed the race in 52:07 and Ricky Mann (457th) finished in 52:40.

The ever-improving Bill Guiller (787th), who was relishing the hot weather, was next home in 57:14, before Marty McKay (883th) in 58:33. Roger Barham (1035th) timed 1:00:44 and Pamela Ward ran an unofficial sub-60 time.
