Ibrox go third with hard-fought win over Saints

Week 19 of the Larne and District Pool League saw three matches go all the way to the 16th frame, with Ibrox, No. 1 Reds and Gers claiming 9-7 wins.

Ibrox move up into to third after a hard-fought 9-7 victory over St Comgall’s. The win looked comfortable as the Ibrox men raced into a 7-2 lead, but the Saints notched up five of the next six to take it all the way.

No. 1 Club lost 9-6 to Saints who were aided along the way by a Gary Johnston hat-trick.

Champions Thatch eased to a 12-3 success over basement team BSQ Rangers. Colin Montgomery Jr., Bill McIlroy Sr. and Johnny Nelson pocketed hat-tricks.

Sean Davison fired a treble as Ruby’s moved eighth by winning the Rockets derby, courtesy of an emphatic 13-2 scoreline over the Thatch Rockets.

In the other derby match, No. 1 Blues shocked the Reds with a 9-7 win. Lee Topping landed a hat-trick before Ryan Scott clinched the points with a play-off frame.

Station Bar showed what they could do with a 12-3 success against Feathers. Damian Heggarty claimed a treble and the Gers came from 7-5 down to beat Q Club 9-7, with Lee Hogg winning the play-off frame.
