Ice cream on the menu for Bann CC

Last Monday evening a group of 23 Banbridge CC riders gathered for what has become the annual “ice cream run”.

Being a member of this club is not all about torture on a bike and the large turnout demonstrates another side to the club cycling activities.

Riders made their way in a leisurely fashion to Rathfriland where they sampled the fare from a locally renowned ice cream dispensary before returning at an even slower pace back to Banbridge.

This is a popular outing - especially with some of the younger members, and helps to build club spirit throughout the year.

Matty wins Groucho GP

Congratulations to Banbridge CC’s Matty Teggart who, riding for the Nicholas Roche Performance Team in the Orchard CC’s Groucho GP in Richill, came up the final hill to snatch a win right on the line from a fast fading breakaway leader of the A3 race.

A great result for Matty who is rapidly putting a miserable year of injury behind him.

Aidie Finnegan riding in the A4 race put in one of his best performances of the year getting into all of the moves and initiating his own breaks in a very aggressive display of strong riding.
