IFA Clubmark certificate awarded to Ballycastle

The club were also awarded new SSG nets, balls, bibs and a special McDonald’s kit in recognition of the club achieving the operating standards required by the club mark scheme.

The Foundation Club Mark is a quality accreditation programme for clubs within the McDonald’s Small- Sided Games Development Centres. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

The aim of the programme is to support the development of aclub and to implement good practice policies and procedures. The Foundation Club Mark prepares the club to successfully work towards the Excellence Mark.

The McDonald’s Foundation Club Mark programme provides:

a clear and structured approach to improving and developing a club; your club with coach bursaries, coach mentoring and club development planning; your club with free footballs and cones along with access to the Adidas free kit scheme and a benchmark for club quality.

The value based coaching section demonstrates to partners, parents and young people that the club is child friendly and safe.

However, the boys went one up after a fine ball over the top sent Conor Boyd through for the first.

Shortly after the boys settled down and goalkeeper Dylan McMullan sent David Kilgore through for number two. Ballycastle started to dominate and a third came when a Ballycastle corner came out to left back Dylan (Allen) Hill 25 yards out on a half volley into the corner of the net, definitely the pick of the bunch. Soon after Oran Kearney played Callum Campbell in for number four.

In the second half roevally started well and pulled one back but Ballycastle added a fifth after a good corner from Callum Campbell setup David Kilgore for his second. A sixth goal was added when David broke away and played Aaron mcbride. Soon after Breandan(butcher)Russell scored a beautiful goal after a quick throw in from Dylan Hill.

This was good result for the lads and all and all a good performance from the boys.
