BANBRIDGE Rangers Swifts played their fifth game of the season at their home pitch in Dromore against Carryduff Colts who have had an impressive start to their campaign with several good wins with Rangers Swifts still searching for their inaugural victory.

From the outset it was clear that it was going to be a tough day for Rangers as Carryduff showed their strength in every challenge as well as being quicker to the ball on most occasions.

After 10 minutes Carryduff took the lead after some good link up play with the striker breaking free to slot past McCune in the Rangers nets.

A foul on the corner of the Carryduff box gave Rangers an opportunity to put pressure on the keeper with Colin Gray’s delivery being headed home to give Rangers an equaliser after 20 minutes played.

After a series of corners Carryduff regained the lead and should have extended it further after rounding the keeper but running the ball wide.

Carryduff went into the break leading 3-1 with another smart finish with Rangers making two changes at the start of the second half with Ryan Gibbons coming onto the right hand side for Gribben and Ryan Burns replacing Stephen Copes as a striker potion alongside Bryan Dobbin.

Another free kick for Rangers gave another chance to send men forward but Colin Gray took it upon himself to go for a direct strike with the ball nestling in the top corner to reduce the arrears to only one goal.

Again Rangers conceded their momentum allowing Carryduff several opportunities to shoot and the away side soon regained their two goal advantage.

Trevor McMinn came into midfield for Bryan Dobbin allowing Wayne McCallister to push further forward but chances for the home side to come back into the game evaporated when Carryduff scored their fifth goal of the game with only a few minutes remaining.

Next up for Rangers Swifts is a highly anticipated match against Moneyslane Thirds at Dromore this Saturday with kick off a 2pm.
