Impressive Dunaghy book place in final

Having already been beaten by Coleraine Crusaders in a semi final earlier in the year Dunaghy knew that a tough game lay ahead and were keen to get a bit of revenge.

As you would expect for a semi final it was a tight contest but Dunaghy took the lead when Joseph Nicholl turned in a fine Gareth McConaghie corner to give them a one goal advantage.

Both teams had good spells until Lee Patrick found himself in space out the left and put in a danger cross which was put into his own net by a Crusaders player who was being put under pressure by the tireless Martin Shaw to make it 2-0 at half time.

The second half saw Crusaders push hard for a goal but Dunaghy worked hard to kill the game with their 2-0 lead. This was a great team performance from Dunaghy especially Nigel Small and Andrew Chestnut in the middle of the park.

Ballycastle U14 (1) Portrush U14 (1)

Ballycastle FCs under-14s secured a 1 – 1 draw with Portrush on Saturday. The Ballycastle boys had all the play but unable to score but kept the Portrush.

In the 56th minute Ryan Hill scored a penalty after being brought down in the box. Portrush scored the equalizer in the 68 minutes, eight minutes after the game should have finished and with the ref making some crazy decisions left it a tough game for the boys.

DUNLOY 1, DESERTMARTIN 0

This was a close game for the entire ninety minutes with both teams creating a number of chances. At the end it was a goal scored by John John McFerran on the 25th minute that decided the outcome in favour of Dunloy and saw then extend their recent good run of form.
