Ambassadors Reserves 1

Scarva Rangers Reserves 1

A BATTLING display from Scarva Rangers Reserves earned an impressive point against high flying Ambassadors Reserves.

Before this game Ambassadors Reserves had won every league game they played this season but that proud record was sent crashing on Saturday at the Gordon Playing Fields.

The Reserve Division Three league leaders had scored 36 goals in six league games and Scarva Rangers Reserves knew they were facing their toughest test so far this season.

Ambassadors took a first half lead and would have been even further ahead had it not been for some critical interventions from Scarva goalkeeper Neil Campbell and his defensive colleagues.

That second goal might have crushed Scarva spirits but it never arrived and as the game ticked towards the final whistle two Scarva substitutes combined to level matters.

Wayne Jordan's pinpoint pass was deftly controlled by Ernie Hammond, before the striker picked his spot and coolly side-footed past the home keeper to secure the draw a terrific all round team performance thoroughly merited.

Best for Scarva Rangers Reserves - David Morton, Brian Topley, Stephen Morton.
