Inst close in on knockout stages of Schools League

COLERAINE Inst's Under-15 golf team are closing in on a spot in the knockout stages of the Darren Clarke Schools League following their victory over Dalriada last week.

The Inst team secured a 5.5 to 1.5 victory over their Dalriada counterparts at Rathmore. Number one Simon Curry lost 3&2, number two Cristian Grossie won 4&2, number three Andrew Thompson halfed his match, number four Stuart Thompson won 6&5 and number five Cameron Fulton won 7&6.

Dalriada were unable to field a full team so Inst claimed matches six and seven as well.

Inst have now beaten Cross and Passion-Ballycastle and Dalriada in the group stages. They now play St MacNissi's after Easter and if they win they will proceed to the knock out stages of the competition.
