Inst see off Dalriada under lights

COLERAINE Inst First XV recorded a 6-0 victory over Dalriada last Wednesday, January 9th, in a match played under floodlights at Coleraine Rugby Club.

CAI dominated the match from the off with Dalriada rarely able to mount a challenge in attack. Inst forwards were outstanding at the breakdown winning all the 50/50 encounters. However CAI failed to turn this pressure into points. Cameron Fulton kicked both penalties but hit the bar on two occasions, his last effort was unfortunately knocked on over the line by man of the match Oliver McDowell.

Inst were also held up over the Dalriada line on four occasions and another try was disallowed when the Dalriada touch judge indicated to referee Adrian Millar that the ball hadn’t been grounded by the outstanding Mark Gordon.
