Instonians have too much firepower for Glademen

In good conditions the Belfast side ran out 6-1 winners against a Glade side who lacked a potent threat in front of goal.

The visitors set the tone when they opened their account from a clinical penalty-corner routine on nine minutes.

Undeterred, Mossley continued to probe and a long spell of possession was rewarded when the ball was fired into the Instonians circle and fell to Jordan Robinson who slotted in a reverse effort from close range.

But Instonians regained their lead just before half time, the goal coming from open play.

Instonians started the better side in the second half and quickly extended their lead to 4-1.

Mossley created further chances but the goalscoring touch eluded them.

Instonians proved clinical in their finishing and saw out the match as 6-1 winners.

On Sunday (November 16), Mossley step out in their Kirk Cup semi-final at Shaw’s Bridge when they take on Banbridge. Passback: 2 pm.

Mossley 2nd XI lost 2-1 at Instonians in the Irish Junior Cup and made the trip to Shaws Bridge on Saturday. Jason Hill netted the Mossley goal.
