Running from Monday to Friday of that week, from 10am until 1.00pm, a large turnout of players, both male and female, will take to the field for a variety of top class coaching, fun packed activities and a real opportunity to meet new friends-all capably delivered by fully qualified IFA coaches.

Maurice said: “It was great to see people getting their registration posted so quickly in July. This meant we knew in advance, how many to plan for.”

A similar event was held in early July when approximately 80 players took part, with everyone receiving a free Adidas ball and a Nutty Krust goodie bag.

The week was a huge success, although tinged with sadness at the recent loss of Irish FA Grassroots officer, Wesley Gregg.

By attending the camp, everyone ensured that it was a fitting tribute to the immensely popular Portstewart man and he was remembered on the last day of action by a round of applause by all present.

Coach coordinator, Ian Getty said: “We were all really determined to make the week in July a success (for Wesley Gregg) and to see everyone really supporting the event confirmed just how popular he was.
