IRISH LEAGUE: Carrick's relegation scrap goes to final game of season

Carrick's relegation battle will go right to the last game of the season after each of the Premiership's bottom three recorded wins on Saturday.

It all means it’s ‘as you were’ in the lower reaches of the top-flight with two points separating the bottom three.

Carrick got off to the worst possible start at Stangmore Park when Cormac Burke opened the scoring for the hosts as early as the sixth minute.

But Gary Haveron’s men came roaring back with goals from Linfield loanee Adam Salley and skipper Aaron Harmon heading them 2-1 in front at the interval.

Veteran striker Miguel Chines made sure of Carrick’s third win over the Swifts this season when he netted from the penalty spot on 69 minutes.
